Last weekend Erm and I went up to the quaint seaside town of Kennebunkport, Maine and stayed at the Captain Lord Mansion to celebrate our anniversary! We went to this bed & breakfast after our wedding for our “mini-moon” to relax and we loved it so much we came back.

This was actually my fourth time staying at Captain Lord. This time, we stayed in the Harvest Room. We picked this room because it had a king-sized bed and a large tub. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated, have a gas fireplace, flat screen tv, free wireless internet, comfy robes and heated bathroom tiles. The staff are very attentive and defintiely pay attention to detail.
They knew it was our anniversary, and there was a nice card and some prosecco chilling in the room when we arrived. Don’t mind if I do.
Or room was on a corner of the house and had lots of windows and natural light.
(And a man on his Blackberry)
The bathroom had a great double showerhead and a huge soaking tub
We enjoyed the lovely gas fireplace
And the bed had some amazing sheets. I didn’t want to get out of it… but I had to. So they could make the bed while we were at breakfast.
Speaking of breakfast… I didn’t take any pictures, because that would have been weird. We had blueberry pancakes and sausage the first day, Belgian waffles and bacon the second, and steak and an egg and cheese souffle on the last day. There was also fruit, yogurt and granola on the table, muffins, and an option of a soft-boiled egg. Every breakfast is delicious and fuels you up for the day!
We really enjoyed our stay and especially loved being snowed in during the storm on Friday. With the fireplace, the gathering room, other fun guests, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance, it couldn’t have been cozier. We’ll definitely be back!
PS – This B&B is supposedly haunted. If you saw my tweets on Friday night, you know we went ghost hunting while we were there. That’s a story for another post!

Any place that has cookies waiting for you upon arrival is my kind of place!
Me too!! Its a great touch. There’s also homemade brownies in the afternoon.
Looks like a fabulous place. That’s very sweet of them to give you cookies. Happy Anniversary!
Thanks!!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
I’m going to a wedding in Kennebunkport next fall. Heard it’s beautiful
Thanks!! You’ll love it, its so quaint there
This place looks adorable! Bret and I just stayed at a B&B together for the first time in Portland and we loved it! We also had some yummy breakfasts but also felt weird taking photos of it!
Gorgeous place! I’m interested to hear the ghost stories:)
Oooo! This is where all the spooky tweets were coming from?
I was imagining you in a dungeon of some sort with spiders and zombies haha! I choose to believe that it would be slightly less scary in a cute room like this
Glad you had fun!
