Dreaming of Bruges…

Thank you so much for your support yesterday! I did a 3 mile run on the treadmill and felt fine until this morning. My hip hurts, but I’m hoping as the day goes on it will loosen up. Am I am old lady or what?

Okay, I give in. While I am NOT wishing winter away… I am ready for spring. (Winter, you’re still tied for my favorite season.) Its probably because I’ve been staring at my honeymoon pictures from April two years ago. Neither of us are beach people, so Europe it was! We flew into Amsterdam, drove to Bruges (Belgium), and from there made a few stops in France. It was definitely the trip of a lifetime. Looking at these pictures brings all my senses back to the weather and everything else about that trip. They make me happy, so I figured I’d share with you :)

Amsterdam…

Drinks in the red light district. I’d LOVE to know what’s going on with that guy behind us.

View from our hotel in Bruges

Did you know that fries are one of my 3 favorite foods? Did you also know that they were invented in Belgium? I may or may not have eaten 7 plates of these in the 3.5 days we were there… when you’re in the place in the world where your favorite thing is the best, you eat as much as you can! (More about that with the French cheese…)

Outside our hotel

Canals everywhere!

Did you also know that I love museums? Fries + museum = happy Michelle

Finally, on our last day… I was full.

I can’t recommend Bruges enough, and if you’re going, hit me up for recommendations. Its a quaint little town with lots to do, lots of beer, fries, chocolate, waffles, and mussels. Easily one of the best places I’ve ever been.

Amsterdam was cool, too, we just weren’t there for very long!

Where’s your favorite travel spot? What’s your favorite foreign food?

Thank you, we were quite relaxed! Bruges is amazing, especially if you love beer. Or chocolate. Or fries. Or… you get the picture.

So fun! I need to explore more of Europe. Brazil is my favorite destination. I’m actually writing up a Brazilian food post for next week :)

Love your pictures! I miss living abroad! Best food had to be the creative dishes my host mom made each night. They were to due for. Oh and French baguettes…there is nothing that even remotely compares here!

  4. What an awesome looking honeymoon! My husband and I went to Disney World for ours…we didn’t have the time off or the $$ for anything more than that but we hope to take a trip to Europe together someday! I’ve been lucky enough to travel to London for work and just can’t believe how beautiful (and OLD) everything is over there – I would love to have the time to explore and enjoy the time over there instead of being in meetings all day.

You two are such a lovely couple! Whenever I hear of Bruges I think of the movie. :)

Amsterdam was one of my fave places to visit. Just beautiful!

OMG, that last picture is PRICELESS!
