Gotta get right back to where we started from…

Get ready for more pics, my friends. Because I just got this

That is a Kodak DX 6490. I bought it used off Ebay and I’m SO HAPPY. They don’t even make this camera any more. Michelle, why would you buy a camera that they don’t make any more? Glad you asked. I had this camera up until about 2 years ago. Then our house got robbed, and guess what got stolen… yup. My camera (amongst all our other prized possessions :( ) Any interest in a “Keeping your home safe from losers” post?

At any rate, I LOVED this camera. And we’re not in the market to spend the $ on an SLR right now, and I wasn’t completely thrilled with my point-and-shoot, so I snatched this one up… for $54! The only problem… It reeks to high heaven of a musty basement. Its disturbingly stinky. Any tips on how to get rid of that?

I had a super busy morning. Amongst secret bridal shower duties, I was able to make myself a healthy breakfast

Oatmeal with PB, strawberries, and a smidge of maple syrup

Lunch

Under those beans is a huge salad

And dinner

Quinoa with roated squash and onions... came to work with me

I’ve been really bad about bringing my meals to work with me, which leads to ordering out, which is more expensive and doesn’t feel as healthy. I was so happy to be on my game this morning and get all my meals made.

On the hip front… it still hurts, yowza. I’m making changes to the way I stand and sit, so I’m hoping that the pain is from things adjusting to that, but it constantly feels like it needs to be cracked. Weird, right? I am going to stick with my glute exercises for this week since I can do those at home, but starting next week, its back to the gym for this girl.

Gotta get right back to where I started from.

Any tips on that camera smell? Have you returned to anything that feels like home to you lately?

I have never heard of a camera smelling funny! My goodness! Maybe a nice lysol wipe? I have no idea!

  2. Hahaha I can’t say that I’ve ever had to cure a stinky camera! It’s great that you got it on ebay for so cheap! Woohoo!

  3. Michelle says:

I’m looking forward to your fabulous photos from your new old camera :-)

  4. Hm, I really have no idea how to get the smell out of the camera, but maybe do the same thing that you do when you drop your cell phone in water, try engulfing it in rice? I have no idea if that will work or not, but it’s worth a shot, I think!

  5. Agree with the lysol wipe, or alcohol swaps. I would try to get into all the cracks and crevices – that’s where the stink hides.

And yay for new (to you) cameras!!!

  6. What a deal! Too bad about the smell. I’m sure after a good cleaning it will be much better. So cool!
