Who loves weddings?

I do!

(Get it?)(I’m such a dork)

Like much of the world, I was up early watching the Royal Wedding. I missed a lot of it, so I had to catch some coverage online. While I love bridal gowns, and beautiful churches, and that carriage was wonderful… my favorite parts of weddings are the part where you can see the couple for who they are. I always watch the groom and try to get a picture of the first look he gets at his bride. And I love when a couple talks to each other during the ceremony, or get lost in each other during their first dance.

My favorite parts of the Royal Wedding were when Kate arrived at the altar and William looked like he was 14 and told her she looked beautiful. A close second was when they stepped out onto the balcony and saw all the people cheering and we could see Kate say “Wow”. It makes people seem real amidst all the perfection that we strive for in a wedding day.

I was also excited to be able to wear my Union Jack shirt today!

I bought this shirt about 7 years ago when I saw it in Macy’s. My heritage is part English (and part lots of other things) so I felt good about it. It is a Lucky Brand shirt and I love it, but I don’t have many occasions to wear it. Today was perfect for it. I wore the jacket because its still a little chilly at work, and I wanted to cover up the back.

And this is why I don’t wear this shirt very often. I just don’t feel right about that. I never became the rock star I thought I’d be when I bought this shirt. Plus, I’m American.

I haven’t really been all that crazed about the royal wedding but I saw the re-play coverage yesterday and loved the look on his face when he saw her in her wedding dress for the first time!

My favorite part of weddings is similar to yours… just seeing all those little moments when the bride and groom are connecting with each other.
