Yesterday I decided to make a return to the gym for some upper body work. I was in the mood to work hard, so I made myself a little circuit and got ready. To help me get ready, I cracked open this box.
You want to cry and ask what’s in the box like Brad Pitt in Seven right now, don’t you? Go ahead, do it.
I opened the box to this display
The good folks at Gatorade sent me the G Series Fit to try out! I love Gatorade (I think it was one of the few reasons I made it through my half marathon) and was excited to try the new product. Plus… its hard to not feel like a badass with that display on your kitchen table
The Series is made up of 3 parts.
1. Prime
The Prime bites are individually packaged, so you can just take as much as you want (I had two before my workout).
I tried the Cranberry Pistachio flavor and they were good! They were the consistency of a Larabar, if you know what that’s like. They were not too sweet and I feel like I could have eaten all 4 and they wouldn’t have been too heavy. They also come in Banana Nut and Cinnamon Raisin Flax flavors. ($1.99 for 4-1 oz bites)
2. Perform
The bottle is thin (to fit in treadmill/elliptical/bike drink holders) and has a gauge on the side so you can see how much you are drinking.
I had the Melon Pear flavor. This was my favorite part of the series. It was somewhere between traditional Gatorade and water as far as flavor intensity goes. While I could definitely taste it afterward, it didn’t leave a gross aftertaste and did not taste too sugary. It was very refreshing, I’ll definitely be buying this when I see it! It also comes in Mango Passionfruit and Berry Acai. ($1.49 for a 16 oz bottle)
3. Recover
I had this waiting in the fridge for me when I got home. I’m very big on having some kind of protein shake/smoothie after a good workout.
I was expecting something different from this drink. It had the taste of a bottled protein smoothie you would buy in a store (think Odwalla), but I’m used to that being a chocolate or vanilla/almond flavor. That chalky taste doesn’t bother me, but for me, it doesn’t go with fruit flavors. Once I started drinking it, it was fine and I did feel great after drinking it. It also comes in Blueberry Pomegranate and Mango Pineapple. ($2.99 for 11.16oz)
Overall, I liked the G Series Fit. I will definitely be buying the drink and probably will pick up some of the energy bites. It has been available since April in various Target, Walgreens and other mass, drug, and grocery stores nationwide. Let me know if you have any questions!
Do you drink sports drinks when you work out, or are you strictly a water person? I tend to go for water, but I’ll drink Gatorade from time to time.
I was sent a complimentary sample of the G Series Fit, all opinions and experiences are my own.

LOL about crying about what’s in the box. Please don’t let it be Gwyneth!
Pear melon sounds really good! I’m not a huge sports drink person — too sweet and I swear it leaves a film in the mouth – but I might have to try that out
