Hi! I hope everyone is safe and sound after the hurricane we had up here. My heart goes out to the people in Vermont who are trying to work through their devastation. I searched for an hour yesterday for how to help and it looks like the best way is to donate through the Red Cross.
We were super prepared since we lost power for 11 days in the Ice Storm of 2009. We were lucky here, we got some crazy rain and wind, but nothing more than a messy yard to deal with.
It was a jungle in there.
My real story with the hurricane is that Nicholas Cage decided to live in my television for a good part of it. Saturday night, Sunday morning, Sunday mid-day… you all know how much I love NC but it seemed like I saw a lot of this.
What’s extra funny is that my tweets and posts about him seem to get the most traffic and retweets, but people can’t stand him!

My fascination with him knows no bounds. Please help.
Did you lose power? How did you entertain yourself during the hurricane?

Nick Cage?! I do not share in that obsession (actually, I don’t really care for him) but it sounds like you had a cozy weekend! I watched Something Borrowed on Sunday – so cheezy, so good!
We didn’t lose power this weekend but we filled our time with baking, catching up on the DVR and lots of reading. It was actually a really perfect weekend in!
