Our trip to Portland

Last weekend, we went to Portland, Maine for a night. Sometimes just going away for a night is a nice little recharge, don’t you think? Fellow blogger Michelle highly recommended Portland, and I’m glad I listened.

I had never been to this cute seaside town and was curious, as I’ve heard all good things about it. We did some walking when we got up on Friday, went to dinner at Farmer’s Table, and had a restful night sleep.

The next day, we woke up relaxed and refreshed, had an amazing breakfast and checked out, and went to walk around some more. We visited La Roux Kitchen store where I was in sprinkle heaven, grabbed a juice at Maine Squeeze (Liquid Sunshine for me, Life Blood for E), tried cupcakes at East End Cupcakes and took the long way home by the coast for a lobster roll in Kennebunkport. It was one of those perfect little weekend getaways that was just what we needed. I would recommend all of the places we went to and will be writing about our Inn and Farmer’s Table for you.

Little getaways like this are so great for the mind and the soul, I highly recommend them. And somewhere near the water at this time of year ;)

Have you been anywhere lately or have anything planned this summer?

  1. sounds like a positively lovely weekend! I just returned from 2 weeks in Europe, so I can’t complain. But I do love weekend getaways!

I got your IM and I’m so happy you had such a great time in Portland!

  3. I love Portland! I went last year with my Dad on a random day trip and it started to rain on the way up. All of sudden we were in hurricane type weather. Your day looks much more lovely! I’m glad you enjoyed a little R&R!
