Hit the Bricks refers to my team slogan for when I run with my cousin/running buddy, Charlotte. As a former high school and college athlete, I had trouble in my early twenties figuring out how to exercise and be healthy without a sport to do so for. I realized I needed to amend my ways when I got older and my body started reacting differently to certain foods and a lack of exercise. A good friend convinced me to run one 5k and my running “career” was born. I’ve run multiple short races, a half marathon, and have my sights set on another half and even a full in the next few years.
My other loves include food, travelling, baking and knitting. I tend to book up my time with all kinds of adventures, and I’m always looking for my next weekend getaway or vacation.
At the same time, I love being home and making well-rounded meals for me and my husband. Thanks to my love of baking, it often smells like cookies in our house.
Above all, I strive to reach (and show) balance in my world. A balanced life is a happy life, if you ask me. This blog is where I show the many aspects of that balance, and how I try to stay healthy through all my craziness.

I’m so glad you have a permanent home. Looks great!
Hi Michelle! I love finding fellow NH bloggers and runners! Maybe we will meet up at a race someday!
Michelle! I didn’t know you had a little mini website!?! I was reading it all and the part of you tryin to keep and maintain balance in your life…well you do know you are a libra correct?? That is your whole purpose in life!! Ha ha! Miss you!
I love it. We’re so similar. I was an athlete all growing up and played basketball in college. I had such a hard time trying to figure out how to eat without the 3hr basketball practices every day and how to workout without a coach making practices and yelling at me to push harder. I’m so excited you were my foodie pen-pal and I had the chance to discover you and your blog.
It was so nice to meet you this weekend! I look forward to reading up on your blog. Hopefully we can run a race together sometime!
